Serpentine Styles

The Sunday Styles section of The Times has a little piece on...well...I'm not sure really. Is it about assistant tell-all books? The world travels of Kate White, editor in chief of Cosmo? Her fascination with snakes? For a one-page article, it sure takes an awfully long time to get to the "wink-wink" point. I did manage to glean one interesting tidbit, however: the new novel by Lauren Weisberger—she of The Devil Wears Prada infamy—will be called Everyone Worth Knowing. Should be interesting to see what happens with that...

How did that piece of dreck get into the New York Times? It's the worst bit of writing I've seen in ages. Did it ever see a copy-editor's screen? In today's Op-Ed section, David Shipley talks about the editing process for those pieces. You'd think similar standards would apply across the newsroom.

I ist here with a copy of the Independent from Thursday July 28th where you get a full page headlined, "beauty and the blog" - it reads brilliantly and supportively - and it made me want to log on and read for myself!
Good luck with the book and the new job offers! "It's and ill wind that blows no good"....
I own a fashion store in the north of England - so am highly aware of the industry from the retail angle !

Thanks for my daily fix on all things beautiful. Please keep it coming as you seem to be the definitive source of candor about beauty and products.

With the music biz exploring payola, can the beauty biz merit a similar evaluation?

I have only recently picked up on your story and how you came to be revealed as "Jolie in NYC." It's interesting to see how many bloggers are out there analyzing the pop culture landscape from a unique perspective.

Best of luck to you and hope you can spin your recent this roadblock into something more!
