My Current Top Ten

The products I'm obsessing over at the moment:

1) J.F. Lazartigue Deep Cleaning Shampoo With Fruit Acids: excellent for "clogged scalps" (who knew there was such a thing?) like mine, plus smells good in a grandmotherly way
2) IS Clinical Active Serum and Pro-Heal Serum: Pro-Heal for day (full of next-big-thing antioxidants like olive-leaf extract); Active (with all-important glycolic acid) for night
3) Regis Olive Oil Hair Masque: I have an intensive conditioner obsession, and not only does this stuff leave my hair silky, but it smells fantastic and slightly fruity
4) Patricia Wexler M.D. Exfoliating Glycolic Peel System: So we've already established that I love things with glycolic acid, and these pads just seem better than a lot of the other, similar versions. My skin doesn't get too red from using them, but feels super-soft and looks clear the next day
5) Bare Escentuals foundation and Clear Radiance: Do I even need to go there? I'm obsessed. Get on it
6) OC 8: Ditto. This stuff zaps up oil all-day long; it's amazing
7) Clean and Clear Invisible Shine Control Powder: I borrowed this stuff from my roommate to use when doing TV appearances. (Cue pretentious laughter.) In conjunction with the OC8, it makes my skin a force to be reckoned with—for use only on special occasions. (I'm still waiting for my roommate to notice it's gone. Once she does, I will sadly be forced to buy my own.)
8) Appearex vitamins: They claim to make your hair and nails grow, and after taking these for about three months, I've never gone in for so many trims and manicures in my life. My hairguy (the incomparable Ted Gibson) even demanded to know what I was using so he could recommend it to other clients
9) NARS Orgasm: Still the best blush around
10) Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder: If you are lazy in the slightest, this stuff—which makes it possible to go a few days between shampoos—will change your life

well well well. Yasmine where are you? sorry you didn't hear from me. I had to do this thing called work today, maybe you've heard of it. But I just update my site it's got a story with Jeremy Shockey on it...nothing parents raised me better than that. Regarding this lady Nadine, who knew a girl with a pixie cut could be so evil and disloyal to her employer, or former employer. Bet they never saw it coming.

Nadine's hair is too short. How can she give hair advice when she barely has any????

Yasmine if you already worked and are married that means you're old which makes it lame you're even posting stuff. Cheers old lady!

I wanted to try the bare escentuals but I didn't know anyone that had used it and had presentable skin. Unfortunately as I age "gracefully" I have little splotches on my skin. I regularly use the Chanel compact and it works but in the sun looks a little cakey. I wanted something natural and I guess in all my rambling, will it cover and look natural?

Bare escentuals doesn't work too well. You're better off with Jane Iredale. The product covers better and lasts through out the day with an SPF of like 20. You can buy Jane Iredale Amazing Base (it's a loose powder/total coverage/complete concealer) at dermotology offices and upscale beauty supply. It's all mineral based. It is the best stuff ever made. Don't even messed with that Bare Escentuals doesn't give even coverage. When I use Jane skin looks airbrushed!

Do you all know what a "troll" is in regards to blog commentors? It's someone that is best ignored because their only function in life is to try to start flame wars in someone's comments. I can tell that some of you here already know the proper procedure, but I'm just putting the word out to those who don't.

Nadine you have raved so much about Bare Escentuals that I am heading over to Sephora this weekend! I do have a STRANGE question though? Have you ever tried any of the "Johnathon Product" from Johnathon Anton..I was watching his show & am dieing to try it, wonder if it is any good!
P.S. Congrats on all the success!!

I haven't tried any of the Jonathan Antin products, unfortunately! If I'm able to get my hands on them, I'll definitely let you know. I do love my Bare Escentuals, though - depending on how much you apply, it gives sheer or opaque coverage, it won't make your skin break out, it has SPF 15 and it looks natural. (Have somebody at Sephora show you how to use it.) If you dip a concealer brush in it, it also covers up more pigmented or splotchy areas very well.

Hey, I really like the Appearex too. I also use another AHA product from the same company called Aqua Glycolic. Sometimes, I have trouble finding it... but it works really well on reducing those signs of aging.. plus it helps with my dry skin.

To Jolie, Anne and other Appearex users,

Did you notice a marked improvement in hair growth and appearance? I've been blessed with my mom's 'good nails' dna. The hair is another issue. My hair grows out at a decent rate, but nothing to wow about. I don't want to waste cabinet space or money on something that gives just marginal results. I'd appreciate your input.

I have definitely noticed a very significant difference since I've starting using the Appearex vitamins. Not only is my hair growing at a much faster rate, but I have to cut my nails every few days, and that definitely wasn't always the case.
